False bookings, and the note kept about them

A false booking is one placed under someone else's name or number, or as a joke; the house keeps a short internal note for twelve months and may report it to the police.

Most cancellations are ordinary: plans change and a client says so in the thread. A false booking is a different thing, and its criteria are written down so that nobody has to guess at anyone's intentions. A booking is false when it was placed under a name that is not the client's, when it came from a number or profile belonging to someone else, or when it was made as a joke. A no-show that follows a booking of one of those three kinds is counted with it.

A missed appointment on its own is not a false booking. It is a cancellation, and the notice scale in the cancellation policy handles it in the usual way.

What is written down

When a booking meets the criteria, the house writes a short internal note holding three things: the date, what happened, and the name and number the booking came from. The same note is written when a therapist ends a visit because her safety or a limit she set was not respected. Twelve months later it is deleted. It stays inside the house, reaches no other person or business, and serves one purpose only: deciding whether to accept a further booking from the same person.

Should what happened look like a criminal offence, the house may report it to the police. That is the one route by which anything about a booking leaves the house.

Why it exists

Every visit means a woman travelling alone, often late, into a building she has never entered, trusting a few messages from someone she has never met. At the mild end, a false booking wastes her night. The note is how the people who accept bookings recognise a name or number that has done that before.

It is also one plain reason a first booking carries a deposit. A small card, Revolut, Wise or crypto payment costs a genuine client a moment's thought and is something a hoaxer rarely makes. The deposit entry lists the other bookings that carry one.

Seeing or objecting to a note

A client who books under his own name, from his own number, and opens the door at the agreed time never comes near any of this. Anyone who wants to know whether a note about them exists, to object to it, or to have it corrected or removed will find the route on the privacy page.
