Tantra, Lingam and Yoni

Tantra is a slow, breath-led technique drawn from Indian tradition; lingam and yoni are its named variants for a male and a female client.

In the context of massage, tantra describes a slow, deliberate style that borrows its vocabulary from Indian and Tibetan tradition: attention to breath, a measured pace, and a session treated as a whole rather than as a sequence of strokes. The word itself comes from Sanskrit and has a long religious history that has little to do with a hotel room in Amsterdam. Buyers do not need that history, but it explains why tantra listings talk about stillness and presence where other menus talk about pressure.

Lingam and yoni

Two further names belong to the same family. Lingam and yoni are Sanskrit words, and on a massage menu they name the tantric session as it is offered to a man and to a woman respectively. A buyer who sees all three words on a list is looking at one technique with two gendered variants, not at three unrelated services. Each has its own page: the lingam and yoni service pages describe them.

Tantra beside sensual

Tantra is often confused with sensual massage, and the two do overlap. The difference is one of pace and framing. A sensual session is defined by touch and atmosphere; a tantric one is defined by rhythm and breath, and it tends to reward a longer booking because it builds slowly. Clients who are unsure often start with tantra at ninety minutes rather than an hour, although every rung on the ladder is available.

Booking it

Tantra is priced on the standard ladder, which for one client with one therapist means the hourly figure, half as much again for ninety minutes and twice it for two hours. A yoni session for a female client follows the same row. A couple sharing one therapist pays double the hour, a couple with a therapist each pays four times it, and one client with two therapists pays double. The tantra guide answers the questions first-time clients usually ask, and the request is made by name in the booking thread in the ordinary way.
